CenterPoint is proud to partner with Fort Wayne Community Schools in meeting their ambitious goals for school improvement through a redesign of district’s curriculum.
“We are at a point where we recognize the need for a universal, rigorous curriculum across all schools and grade levels in the district,” Superintendent Wendy Robinson said.
“This curriculum is designed to challenge students to their potential and allow teachers to focus on the individual needs of students as they move through the curriculum.”
Over a three-year period, CenterPoint is partnering with the Charles A. Dana Center to develop a PreK–12 curriculum and embedded assessments in core content (ELA, mathematics, science, social studies), including the design and development of literacy and mathematics interventions and extensions.
“It’s so gratifying to hear the teachers working on the curriculum say that they are excited to start the new school year with a shared plan for helping all students become literate citizens,” said Bonnie Hain, CenterPoint’s Chief of Academics and District Services.
CenterPoint is supporting Fort Wayne Community Schools by developing key design documents and models for district and school-based teams to use to develop their full set of curricula. CenterPoint experts are also facilitating curricula development, building staff capacity, and serving as on-site thought partners to district leadership.
